Hooding faculty instructions
What time to arrive
For the Spring 2026 Graduate University Commencement held , doors open at and faculty must arrive by .

Please allow time for parking, security checks, etc, and bring your academic regalia.
Do not bring any valuable personal belongings you cannot carry with you, as there will not be anywhere secure to store them during the ceremony.
Faculty parking

Faculty entrance/checkin
Faculty enter at the northwest corner of The Pit. There will be a check-in table upstairs on the club level. After checking in you will wait upstairs until the event marshals line you up to process onto The Pit floor for the ceremony.
Hooding process
If you are hooding a doctoral student, there is a rehearsal for hooding instructions on Tuesday, May 12 from 10:00 – 10:30 AM in the Pit. This is optional, but recommended for those who have not hooded before.
For the rehearsal you can park anywhere near the Pete McDavid Lounge off University and enter through the Pete McDavid Lounge at the Southeast corner of the Pit.
We will meet on the Pit floor near the stage for rehearsal.

What time it ends
The graduate ceremony is expected to end by and the undergraduate by but they may run longer or shorter.
If you are making plans for after the ceremony, make sure to account for traffic leaving the event.
